Privacy Policy

What This Privacy Policy Covers

Peer39, Inc. ("Peer39" or "we") produced this privacy policy to demonstrate its firm commitment to the online privacy of Internet users.
This document describes Peer39's privacy practices on our corporate website and across our advertising network and how we collect and use consumer data. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies and websites not under the control of Peer39 or to individuals that Peer39 does not employ or manage.

What Information We Collect And What We Use It For.

Personally Identifiable Information.

Personally identifiable information ("PII") is information that can be used to identify an individual consumer, for example, a person's name, home address, email address, or phone number. Peer39 does not generally collect PII from Internet users. Users should be aware, however, that Peer39's clients may request such information in order to use their websites or e-commerce systems. Users should therefore review the privacy policies of the websites they visit to assess the security of any PII they disclose.

Registering to become a member of the Peer39 network, either as an advertiser or a publisher, requires the submission of PII to our company, including name, mailing and/or billing address, email address, company name, and website URL. We use this information to service accounts and respond to inquiries. We will only use the contact information of Network members for communications related to the Network. We hold all submitted PII in confidence. A Network member's email address, mailing address, phone number, or other PII will not be sold to, supplied to, or otherwise made available to any third party, except that Peer39 may disclose such PII pursuant to a court order, as Peer39 deems necessary to protect its rights or to respond to a law enforcement request, or as otherwise required by law. Registered members may reach us through the "Contact Us" page to update or correct their personal information.

Non-Personally Identifiable Consumer Data.

In order to customize the online user experience and provide our clients with useful statistics and analysis regarding their websites, Peer39 may collect certain anonymous information, which is not linked to PII, including but not limited to a user's IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We may use different types of technology, including cookies and data tags (see more information below), to collect such anonymous information and target the most relevant ads to users based on such information. All information shared with both advertisers and publishers within the Peer39 network is done so in an aggregate fashion. This allows us to provide members of the Peer39 network with broad percentages regarding the users who are receiving advertisements through the Network. However, this data is not linked to any form of PII.

Cookies and Data Tags.

Most websites employ "cookies", small packets of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier, that are sent to a user's browser from a website's computer and stored on the user's computer's hard drive. The website placing the cookie on the user's computer can then recognize the computer when the user navigates the website.

Peer39 may use cookies for the purposes of tracking when an Internet user has seen an advertisement and the collection of non-personally identifiable information. We may use both session cookies, packets that are erased when the user closes the browser at the end of a web session, and persistent cookies, those that remain on the user's computer even after the user closes the browser for a programmed amount of time.

To make certain that advertisements are correctly targeted to users, the websites in the Peer39 Network may place data tags on their websites. Data tags are used to match anonymous visitor browsing behavior to specified advertisements, and the tags are not used to collect PII.

Opt-Out

Users always have the option to prevent the use of cookies on their computers by changing the setting on their Internet browsers to block cookies. In addition, users have the option to block the use of JavaScript, which may be used by Peer39 to display advertisements. Since each Internet browser is different, for more information, each user should review the documentation regarding the user's specific browser. The user should be aware, however, that opting out of cookies may affect the user's ability to access the functionality and content of certain websites.

Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the PII submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect PII, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Please send questions about security on our Web site to security@peer39.com.

Third Party Sites.

Peer39's corporate website or advertising network may permit you to link to other websites on the Internet, and other websites may contain links to this site. These other websites are not under Peer39's control and Peer39 is not responsible for the privacy or security practices or the content of such websites.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Peer39 may find it necessary to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will conspicuously note any material changes and post the changes both in this privacy policy and our homepage. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently.
