Peer39 Names Gordon Crovitz to Advisory Board

Former Publisher of The Wall Street Journal and Executive Vice President of Dow Jones & Company Joins Online Semantic Advertising Firm

NEW YORK (APRIL 2, 2009) Online semantic advertising company Peer39 (www.Peer39.com) has named Gordon Crovitz, former publisher of The Wall Street Journal as well as executive vice president of Dow Jones & Company, to its Advisory Board.

"Gordon has proven a key player in the monetization of the Web from his career at The Wall Street Journal, "said Amiad Solomon, CEO, Peer39. "His vast experience in online publishing adds a vital piece to the adoption of our semantic advertising solution."

"Peer39's ability to match content with advertising by means of semantic technology is a game-changer for online publishers and advertisers," said Crovitz. "Its semantic targeting takes marketing to a new level of efficiency, benefiting all parts of online media, as well as consumers."

Crovitz joins an Advisory Board that includes Daniel Jaye, former president of TACODA, and Eytan Elbaz, founding member of Applied Semantics, the inventor of AdSense.

In his 25-year career at Dow Jones, Crovitz was a columnist, magazine publisher and founder of Factiva. Under his leadership, The Wall Street Journal Online grew to more than one million paying subscribers, making it the largest subscription news site on the Web. He led numerous acquisitions, including those of MarketWatch.com, Private Equity Analyst and VentureOne. Besides Peer39, Crovitz serves on the boards of ProQuest and Blurb, and is an adviser to several technology and media companies in California and New York. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and law degrees from the University of Oxford and Yale Law School.
